Praying the Bible – Day 5
In the previous days Don Whitney has discussed how praying the Psalms and New Testament letters typically allows us to pray microscopically at specific verses, words and even between the commas of scripture. Today he turns the attention to praying a narrative. He explains that when praying a narrative, instead of word by word or verse by verse we would typically take a larger chunk of the text to get the broad idea and then phrase our prayer around that broad idea.
There is nothing that says we have to pray over every verse. This is freeing. Instead we pray what is on our mind. Watch Whitney explain how to pray the narrative of John 5:
How did it go? Did you try it? Have you tried it? Did you hear Whitney plead with you? He says that he “can’t emphasize enough to actually try Praying the Bible”. This is not something you can just listen to a couple videos. You need to try it! Login and leave a comment!
Tomorrow, there will be one last post on this series to wrap up.
