10/20/2020 – Day 158 Commentary – Praying the Bible -Psalm 67.

0

A little coincidence here: Day 3 of “Praying the Bible” focuses on praying Psalm 67. The next day, Psalm 67 is in the middle of our reading assignment – read through the bible in 365 days. There you have it!

My comment post didn’t work so I will create this new post. The issue I think is that I am commenting prior to the scheduled date , that being tomorrow. With my schedule going through next Monday, if I am not able to work this series, I will pick it up next week. Reminder: If you don’t have a logon or don’t logon, you won’t be able to see comments from original posts.

Comment as follows:

67:4 – “Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For you shall judge the people righteously, And govern the nations on earth. Selah”
George Washington: “It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor”
Historical note:
Following his inauguration as the nation’s first president, in 1789, George Washington walked up Broadway to St. Paul’s for the service, attended by his wife, as well as both houses of Congress. Why? To pray as one body in Christ, and give thanks for God’s providence in creating this new nation that was not like anything before it….. We can pray Psalm 67 and give thanks, praying with the saints , just 231 years later in time.
Soli Deo Gloria!
