Shalom, to you my Friend and Co-Minister in the Great Commission…

Just as the sacred Hebrew year had come to its final day, all hell broke loose on the nation of Israel. Just as it seemed to many as if the Jewish nation had finally found its peace among its Arab neighbors and in the world with a looming peace deal with Saudi Arabia, its peace was shattered into a million fragments.
It was in the autumn of last year, on the morning of October 7, that agents of Hamas invaded the land of Israel, targeting men, women, and children, mothers and babies, for execution, for terror, murder, torture, killing children in front of their parents, burning children alive. It was the first time any such thing had happened to the Jewish people since the last days of the Nazi Holocaust.
The world was shocked and for a moment expressed sympathy. But that moment was short-lived. It wasn’t long before the nations of the world were casting Israel, in its campaign to end the terror of Hamas, as the villain. Students in American Ivy League colleges voiced their strong support for Hamas. All around the world anti-Semitism not only reared its head, but exploded – and not only where one might have expected it – but throughout Europe, in London, in Berlin, and in America – in Los Angeles and New York.
Many were shocked, including Jewish people. Many liberal Jewish people were shocked at the virulent anti-Semitism they saw among their left-wing colleagues – at the silence of those who should have denounced the atrocities of Hamas – and the outright support of the terrorists from the woke.
And yet, for a believer, while it was all shocking, it should not have been surprising. The Bible says there is an enemy – in Hebrew, Sah-tan or Satan. He wars against the purposes of God. The Jewish people and Israel are the center of the purposes of God. Thus, he has tried to wipe them off the face of the earth for ages. He tried to do so in ancient times, in medieval times, and in modern times. It is the oldest hatred on earth – and it’s not rational – it’s irrational. It’s not natural – but supernatural. What Hamas did was not political – it was demonic. What took place in autumn of 2023 only further bears witness that the Bible is the word of God. Further, the Bible foretells that in the last days, the world will come against the tiny nation of Israel. We’re watching it transpire. And yet the crisis also bore witness, that Israel’s best friends are the true followers of Jesus/ Yeshua. With your help we have given over $100,000 of humanitarian aid to help Israel in this crisis. This month pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the purposes of God. For the days in which we live are truly prophetic – and we have been called for such a time as this. May God greatly bless you!
