I’ve shared this story before in this blog: When I was college, we were assigned to read “The Federalist Papers” by Jay, Hamilton and Madison. I was an accounting major, trying to get everything done with a young family, work and full-time school. But I couldn’t put this book down. I remember thinking to myself: “Who were these guys !?!”, in that it was akin to an intensive power-packed application of Romans 12:2. Well, years later I got my answer: A predominant number of our founding fathers were brought up on “Christian worldview” education, therefore they were well versed in the power to “think” and articulate truth from His Truth! So, the answer to my question for these three, resonating decades later: They were mere messengers for Jesus Christ, flawed as they were.

Note in the article, Eisenhower’s quote near the end of this article:

“The Bill of Rights contains no grant of privilege for a group of people to destroy the Bill of Rights”.

Note – We had good news on turnaround from the Supreme Court this past Monday on our first amendment rights, striking down as noted in this article “the 51 year-old-judicial activist decision known as Lemon v. Kurtzman.” I learned quite a bit in this short article. We shouldn’t neglect prayer and the study of His Word, but if you want to learn more, I would suggest a free online course from Hillsdale College. It is a rich resource for “life-long learners.” This link is drilled down into the classic literature section but you can just back up a few screens:
