01/24/2021-Day 252 – 2 Timothy 3 -4 / Our special guest: Sinclair Ferguson – “His Sufficient Word”
This sermon can be found under Alistair’s sermon repository at TruthforLife.org. Just go to sermons and search by book of the bible under 2 Timothy. This could be the only non-Alistair sermon in that list as Sinclair was a guest speaker at a conference back in 2005, probably hosted by Alistair’s church. Alistair’s sermon , an intro / overview of 2 Timothy just preceding this post was also in the same timeframe. Needless to say, they are timeless , as is all of God’s Word.
Enjoy and Arm Up! (Romans 12:2) At the very bottom, I will share a bio of SInclair, including a list of his Christian books that he authored.

Yes, I too have been a Christian as long as I can remember. But if I had been presented with this sermon 25 years ago, I would have given up just a few minutes in, presuming I even hit the start button. Today, I frantically made notes as I tried to stay with him conceptually .
At 50 minutes in, he noted a term he that “probably wasn’t even in the dictionary.” Meaning? Dude , did you just make it up? It capsulizes this definition: “What they do when they truly function amongst God’s people. ” I played it back three times and couldn’t conjure up a spelling until I broke it down into two words that I think are of Latin origin: “Eiffelimastic” – “Eiffel” as in “tower” and “mastic” : a protective coating on the surface of metals to prevent corrosion.” Help!; thoughts? Mmm, it just occurs to me, a blessing to be in a mode to prevent corrosion as opposed to helping to remedy the damage. No? Thoughts?
To use a secular analogy, Sinclair’s mental pace was like trying to keep up with a Robin Williams monologue on Johnny Carson. He would have received even more laughs had the vast majority of us been able to keep up with his lightning fast mental images, connected but not direct, you had to mentally think at that lightning fast pace, perhaps faster, to get it! lol It was like the movie “Shakespeare”, excellent movie, but only about 15% of the audience were also engaged in short bursts of belly laughs. Why? Because they had studied his Shakespeare , even down to his witticism style. But this is serious!; It is God’s Word!
Oh so much more to address but I’ll leave you in much better hands with Sinclair. Maybe, God willing I may come back, thereby my much looked forward to future post of : 3 of ?. What a joy it is….
Enjoy and arm up as in Romans 12:2.
