Two separate events wtih different people in each event, but there is a clear connection from the verses for each respective section:

“Jesus Teaches Nicodemus” / John 3: 10-15: “You are Israel’s teacher,’ said Jesus, ‘and do you not understand these things? ; I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we tstify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things. No one has ever gone into heaven exept the one who came from heaven — the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”

“John the Baptist’s Testimony About Jesus” / John 3: 32 -33: “He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. The man who has accepted it has certified that God is truthful.”

Nicodemus has been a fascinating character study for me as long as I can remember. I am going to share this article (link below) with you for I too believe Nicodemus left this life as a believer in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, so in fact, he was born again. I think there is pretty strong evidence for that in the last of three times we see him in the Bible, he is buying helping Joseph of Arimethea with Jesus’ burial by buying 100 pounds of costly spices. Would a member of the Sanhedrin stick his neck out like that if he weren’t a believer?
