-You will have to excuse me , as I am going in reverse chronological order of the chapter here, as I am saving the “20 points to witnessing” with regard to the “Jesus Talks WIth a Samaritan Woman” – verses 1 – 26 , for last.

In the section: “Jesus Heals the Official’s Son”, verses 43 -54:

Notice that the father and his household did not believe until he realized the reported time that his son was healed coincided exactly when Jesus told him in verse 50: “You may go . Your son will live” But , notice that he trusted Jesus at his word, even though he didn’t yet believe. So Jesus was right in verse 48: “Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders, you will never believe.” Recall what Jesus told Thomas (without lookup): “You saw and believed, but blessed are those who haven’t seen , yet believe.”

In the section: “The Disciples Rejoin Jesus” – verses 27 – 38, I needed some feed back on verse 38 as I wasn’t completely clear and John Gill came through once again:

Ok, now to the 20 points as illustrated to us by Jesus with his witness to the Samaritan woman. I am providing the links to both part 1 and part 2. Just FYI: The points are contained in both but only part 2 has all the 20 points listed. I am supplying part 1 , as it has unique verbage above the partial list of the points.

Ok, we all have our favorite : Read through the Bible programs. For simplicity, “Whichever one you select, just do it!”

But, I am throwing this out for the floor:

Would you recommend a smaller subset of Books in the Bible before going back to the “read through program.” For example, I recently fellowshipped with a brother, a new believer, who told me that his father-in-law told him to read “Revelation” first. I wanted to say: “What was he thinking ?” haha

Well, I would like to hear from y’all but here would be my preliminary list in order:

John / Genesis / Psalms / Proverbs / Micah / Joel / Habakkuk.

I suspect I might get some questions on the minor prophets on the list but in a broad sweep taken as a whole: Short and concise major points from : Who is God?; Who is Man? And What is God’s Relationship to Man? They more than meet the goal if it leaves a thirst for learning more for the inquiring soul and/or a new believer. I would like to follow with Romans and Hebrews but that would call for at least a couple of the Law Books preceding it. And then how could you precede without some History Book coverage as well. So I will stick with the seven as my answer for now. And hey, “7” is the number for comleteness in biblical numerology.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Love,

Your brother in Christ (be it current or future) ,

Jimmy

Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Ive heard it said that he “had to” pass through Samaraia because there were lost people there.

And he had to pass through Samaria.
