02/21/2021 – Day 280 – Hebrews 5-7 -1 of ? / link to article: “I just find it hard to have faith in God.” (not realizing the implications and short-sightedness of our words)

so…, check it out – link – bottom of the page. Because indeed, we can equate our faith to our everyday world : By questioning His Word, how many things in this world do we implicitly have faith in, even with evidence to the contrary? For unlike these worldly examples, God has shown through His Word that He is always faithful to His promises. (not just 99.999999% or the limit approaching 100%, but real 100% of the time!) So, yes, do we really believe what we say we believe is really true? (it’s ok, for “hope that is seen is not hope”, just grab onto it for dear life and never ever let go. For the unceasing hope, glorifies God and confounds the devil and his minions. The tougher it is , the more it glorifies. )

This article was placed within our reading tomorrow – Hebrews , chapters 4 through 7, for good reason. Why? Because , it is hard to get our head around the message, and to fully understand the unfolding of God’s Truth that is in fact unfathomably joyful. Imagine that!; you mean I can’t understand 100% the ways of the Lord, the creator of the Universe, the Alpha and the Omega? As an Army buddy commented to me once: “Let me show you my shocked face…. ” (Thank God for even succinct brotherly rebukes. That was in our Proverbs reading this week as matter of fact! )

Who could even make up such a “joyful” (“happy” just can’t be used here) ending? Here I am posting Hebrews, before I even get to today’s reading of the book of Jonah. In fact, I am trying to be attentive to the Holy Spirit, as I am most challenged on my schedule the next two weeks, not so much for the reading itself , but the commentary.

It’s ok, we are in the midst of a one year read and pray through the Bible. But Truth be told, Praise God!, the learning in progress is without end. As I noted before, it is well that we have eternity in heaven to get to know God, because that’s how long it will take us to get there!

And as our youngest daughter noted, borrowing from a Robert Earl Keen song title when she was about 10 years old: “Hey Dad!, ‘The Road Goes on Forever, and the Party Never Ends!’ ” At the time, I thought: “That’s really sublime, she just turned a popular secular song into an undaunting faith statement.” It is funny how the memories stick on those instances where our children witness to us. So, as unbelievable as it is, we are in fact invited to the Triune God’s eternal party. The question is: “Do we accept His invitation”. And too: “How hard do we fight to pass the word to our future brothers and sisters in Christ?” I am recalling the old adage: “If you want to know what a man values, observe where he spends his time.”

“Soli Deo Gloria” Always connected by His grace! (100%!!!)

Your brother in Christ,

Jimmy
