Let’s explore Melchizedek in previous biblical references- The King of Righteousness :
I am surprised that Halley comments : “Hebrew tradition says that he was Shem, survivor of the Flood. And in this short Genesis 14: 18-20 commentary he concludes with: “whoever he was, he was a picture and type of Christ. “type” nothing, He was the Christ I submit! I was relieved that Matthew Henry acknowledges the tradition, adding: it is difficult to imagine a mere man should be said to be without father or mother.
And then , once again we have in Psalm 110, another David prophecy that is 1000 years away from its fulfillment. Like, Psalm 22 before it, was David on a lsd trip or is this in fact a “distation from the Holy Spirit. I encourage everyone to read Psalm 110. And then in Matthew 22:43, see what Jesus says directly about the Psalm 110:1 prophecy. Once again, he leaves the Pharisees dumbfounded and speechless when he asks in verse 22:45: “If David then calls Him ‘Lord’ how is He his son?” And then verse 46 observes: “And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.”

And glad to see, that here too the commentary concludes that David “took dictation from the Holy Spirit in Psalm 110. (John Hinn commentary of Hebrews 7)
