02/23/2024 – Let us continually strive to unmask all the blessings in our lives. //”And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work. The Unjewish Name of Messiah

Tuesday, January 23, 2024

The word Christ is one of the hardest words for Jewish people to hear. They’ve been called Christ killers for almost 2,000 years. And to the Jewish people, the word Christ was the most un-Jewish of names. The Jewish people were the first to call the Messiah, the Christ, or Christos. Christ is simply the Greek translation of the Hebrew word for Mashiach – Messiah. For 2000 years, Messiah’s own people didn’t recognize Him and didn’t realize what they were seeing. We too can miss the blessing even when it’s in our midst. We can miss realizing His hand and His love in our lives. But the Lord is with you even when you don’t realize it or you don’t recognize His calling. Your blessing may be right there, as with the Jewish people who’ve had the word Christ, but didn’t realize it was all about their Messiah and their hope. Look to see all the blessings in your life, the blessings you’ve missed. For even as the Jewish people are yet to see that the Christ is really their longed Jewish Messiah, there are blessings in your life you have yet to unmask.

From Message #726 – The Forbidden Prophecy
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:8

TODAY’S MISSION – Are there blessings in your life that you’re not seeing, not appreciating, not realizing? Seek to see them today. Give thanks for them. And cherish them.

Comment: Remember the prayer acronym: “ACTS” – “Adoration; Confession; Thanksgiving; Supplication”. Pray the Psalms , Psalms 145 – 150 is an example of “adoration” prayer. Psalm 145 continues to be my daily prayer to start my day. God’s Word is amazing!; I think it has been integral component to unmasking the blessings in my life, times of trial and suffering included.

re: The name of Jesus: I use the name “Jesus” not to throw fellow souls off, but in my personal prayers, I will call him “Yeshua”, as he was called on this earth. I don’t believer there is a “leading J” sound in either the Hebrew nor Aramaic languages. And since we are on the subject of names, I will share this: I recall reading a speculative notion that Yeshua will have a special nickname for us that only the two of us will know. True or not, God loves us all, but he created us and loves us “uniquely”, with our own gifts and personalities.

Another example: Way back in my first “read through the Bible” over 3 decades ago, in a quick concluding share from a brother in our church class on the book of Job, he commented that in the end Job had more children than before, and they were so beautiful. I recall thinking to myself: “Brother, I can’t resonate with that thought, for if I lose one child, it doesn’t matter how many children I have, it cannot remove remove my grief in the least no matter how long my life will be. Then, I suprisingly reflected, if I can say that with say a dozen children, as I’m sure my maternal grandmother would echo if she were still with us, than I think Yeshua is infinitely capable handling all the souls that have ever been born. Maranatha!

I think I might post this quote: “Heaven without Yeshua would be hell.” Sorry, I cannot remember the originating messenger.

Soli Deo Gloria!
