03/08/2024 – “But know this: difficult times will come in the last days…” – 2 Timothy 3: 1 – 5 // Whoa! Comments?
Here is my Matthew Henry commentary on just verse 1: “In the last days (v. 1), in gospel times, there would come perilous times, not so much on account of persecution from without as on account of corruptions within.” Matthew Henry (1662 – 1714)
Who is Matthew Henry? Bear in mind, it is not about the messenger…:
Both Matthew Henry and John Gill bible commentaries are available free on the web. I have hard copy of Matthew Henry’s entire commentary, it covers 2,000 pages. John Gill has commentary broken out by specific bible verses since he wrote specific text on every single verse in the Bible! In a book, I think it would easily cover many more pages than Matthew Henry’s commentary, perhaps an entire shelf in a bookcase. haha
