04/02/2021 – Holy Week Movies for Inspiration & Curiosity question
If you go to the top of the menu bar , select : “Favorites” category then hit the filter button, you will see a history of posts in that category. Back to 06/21/20 – I have Christian Movies for Inspiration. One of the four listed : “The Robe” , is a good one for this holy weekend that dates back to the 1950s. It is a fictional story within the True Story of Christ’s passion, resurrection and the early church soon thereafter. It stars Richard Burton, Jean Simmons and Victor Mature, so it doesn’t lack for great actors. Richard Burton plays the main fictional character role of Roman Tribune who is assigned to Jerusalem, with his first duty being the crucifixtion of Jesus.
And again, I still would like to immerse ourselves into a short review and small group study of “XL – The Temptation of Christ, a Faith Works Pictures. The scripture accounts are very short on the 40 day temptation of Jesus in the desert following his baptism and just before the start of His public ministry.
From that movie, one curiosity question to share would be: How aware was the devil of Jesus’ substitionary atonement on the cross to save us from death? Did he have any inkling that this was his demise, as certainly God had pronounced to him in the garden. Or not at all, even possibly cheering at his last breath and “It is finished!”. Any clue when the veil was torn from top to bottom in the Holy of Holies?
