05/02/2021 – Handel’s Messiah – a breaktaking masterpiece to the glory of God: the story and the music.
I’ll start with the short “Hallelujah” Chorus section. We had a great choir at First Presbyterian Church in Houston in the 1990s. It was a Christmas tradition that the Choir would perform “Messiah” . And , at the end , everyone in the packed sanctuary was invited to sign along. In retrospect, we looked forward to like the young child rushing off to the Christmas tree in the wee hours of Christmas morning.
