“For the Jews ask for signs and the Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles. Yet to those who are called, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is God’s power and God’s wisdom, because God’s foolishness is wiser than human weakness and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength. (1 Corinthians 1:22)

“I gave warning and I give warning — as when I was present the second time, so now while I am absent — to those who sinned before and to all the rest: if I come again, I will not be lenient, since you seek proof of Christ speaking in me. He is not weak toward you, but powerful among you. In fact, He was crucified in weakness, but He lives by God’s power. For we also are weak in Him, yet toward you we will live with Him by God’s power.” (2 Corinthians 13: 2-4)

It is an irony , that the Lord chose Paul, a Pharisee, a Jew’s Jew, amongst the elite as he studied under the renowned instructor and a leading authority in the Sanhedrin. The Lord has a different plan, I submit Paul was the first ever Christian Worldview warrior: “There is no direction that we can walk in this life, that the Lord does not speak to.” Certainly, Paul was led by the Holy Spirit, but who better to go toe to toe with the Greek academic elites, grounded in that Christian worldview as opposed a pagan worldview! He had been transformed to human wisdom now undergirded with a foundation of His absolute Truth.
