06/25/2022 – Day 118 – Jeremiah 22 – 26 / Amazing fulfilled prophecies, unlikely to be detected without a commentary.

Let’s get started!:
22: 13,14: “The entire world is built on unrghteousness, and is committed to making a fast buck by ripping off the innocent. Jesus spoke of a rich man who said that he would build bigger barns to store his goods for himself, but he wasn’t rich toward God. God called him a fool, and said, “This night your soul will be required of you” (Luke 12;20) – (*A)
“Chapter 23. False Prophets
A bitter indictment of the leaders of God’s people. Jeremiah’s stinging arrainment of Davidic kings supplies a background for a pre-vision of the coming Davidic Messiah (23: 5-8, see under chapter 33). As for the false prophets: They were the greatest hindrance to the acceptance of Jeremiah’s preaching: in the name of God, delivering their own messages crying out, ‘Jeremiah is lying. We are prophets of God, and God has told us Jerusalem is safe.’ ” (*B)23:29
23:24 verse: “Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him? says the Lord; Do I not fill heaven and earth!” says the Lord. Footnote: “This small verse shares the grandest of truths. God sees all. He knows all. As human beings we can hardly contain two thoughts at the same time. God is also omnipresent (see Psalm 139: 7-10). He is nothing like we imagine Him to be” (*A)
23:29 verse: “Is not My word like a fire?” say the Lord, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.” Footnote: “Use the Word of God as much as you can in your preaching and witnessing. It is a powerful two-edged sword that cuts to the bone of sinners (See Hebrews 4;12) Use the Law to break the hard heart, then share the glorious gospel to heal the broken heart.” (*A)
“Chapter 24. The Two Baskets of Figs
The good figs representing the best of the people, who had been carried to Babylon in Jehoiachin’s captivity (597 B.C.), and earlier, including Ezekiel and Daniel,; the bad figs those who had remained in Jerusalem, minded, with Egypt’s aid to resist Babylon (II Kings 24: 10-20). (*B)
“Chapter 25. Seventy Years Captivity Predicted
This was the early years of Jehoiakim’s reign (1), about 604 B.C.. The remarkable thing is that the exact duration of Babylon’s sway is foretold (11-14), 29:10; 11 Chronicles 36:21; Ezra 1:1; Daniel 9:2; Zechariah 7:5). An amazing prophecy. No possible way ffor Jeremiah to know , except by direct revelation from God.”
I have heard more than once in my extended family: “The Bible is b.s.!” But have they even read it? Highly doubtful in its entirety and highly possible: None of it. And even if they did, they would read right over it without knowing because it is even more unlikely they would be using a credible commentary. Prayer .
Sorry , another key couple of fulfilled prophecies in Chapter 23! :
-The Righteous Branch, the prophecy of Jesus , the Messiah
- And another prophecy fulfilled : “As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the descendants of Israel up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them. Then they will live in their own land.” A prophecy fulfilled over 2600 years later with the post World War 2 miracle of the new nation of Israel.
Whoa, I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist! SolI Deo Gloria!
