07/26/2022 – Day 149 – Exodus 33 -36 // “Moses and the Glory of the Lord” section – 33: 12 -23//
Let’s look at the relatioship that Moses had with the Lord. Moses confides in 33:12: “… You have said, I know you by name and you have found favor with me. If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continuue to find favor with you. And the Lord comes back in v17: “I will do the very thing you have asked because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” And the Lord puts Moses in the cleft of the rock so that he might see Moses sees his back as His glory passes by.
‘In the gathering up the people’s donations for the Tabernacle, it is noted in 36: 6-7 : “… And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.” Matthew Henry notes in his commentary here: “The liberality of the people. A rare instance! Most need a spur to quicken their charity; few need a bridle to check it, yet these did.”
Soli Deo Gloria!
