08/06/2020 – Day 74 – Psalm 30 – 32 How many psalms did David write?
Psalm 30: 11 – 12 :
“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing, You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness. To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord, my God, I will give thanks to You forever.”
Psalm 31:19:
“Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons on men! ” (Whoa, I don’t recall seeing many exlamation points in my Bible, but this is one. My footnote reads: “Here is the amazing promise to those who are not ashamed to bear the reproach of the gospel.” This is certainly a message for us today, that will become more and more compelling as we must go against the grain of the increasing evil within this world.)
David wrote 73 of the 150 Psalms. Check this out:

Psalm 32:9 : “Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.”
My footnote – Differences between men and animals:
“The Bible tells us that animals are created ‘without understanding.’ Human beings are different from animals. We are made in God’s ‘image.’ (Jimmy’s note – Muslims do not believe this) As human beings, we are aware of our ‘being.’ God is ‘I AM,’ and we know that ‘we are.’ We have understanding that we exist.
Among other unique characteristics, we have an innate ability to appreciate God’s creation. What animal gazes with awe at a sunset, or at the magnificence of the Grand Canyon? What animal obtains joy from the sounds of music or takes the time to form an orchestra to create music? We are also moral beings. What animal amoung the beasts sets up court systems and apportions justice to its fellow creatures?
While birds and other creatures have instincts to create (nests, etc), we have the ability to uncover the hidden laws of electricity. We can utilize the law of aerodynamics to transport ourselves around the globe. We also have the God-given ability to appreciate the value of creation. We unearth the hidden treasures of gold, silver, diamonds, and oil and make use of them for our own benefit. Only humans have the unique ability to appreciate God for his incredible creation and to respond to His love.”
