Unless noted, today’s bible verse commentary excerpts are from “The Evidence Bible – NKJV”:
“Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, You people in whose heart is My law; Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their insults”. Isaiah 51: 7
“51:7 This is you dear Christian. You have been given the Holy Spirit. You have the mind of Christ and have God’s Law written on your heart (see Hebrews 10:16). Step out in faith and speak the words of eternal life with great boldness. Though men may reproach and revile you, you have God’s promise that He will be with you and will honor the words you speak for Him. See John 12:26 for a wonderful promise of God.”

“52:14. Depictions of a ‘suffering Savior’ on the cross can never do justice to the agony He endured for us. ‘Think lightly of hell, and you will think lightly of the cross. Think little of the sufferings of lost souls, and you will soon think little of the Savior who delivers them.’ Charles Spurgeon

“Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For he will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:7
“55:7 This is repentance. The sinner is not only to forsake his thoughts, but also his way (actions). It is more than an intellectual acknowledgment that he has sinned. He must turn from those sins – he must confess and forsake them (see Proverbs 28:13). In doing so, he will be abundantly pardoned. Repentance is not a ‘work’ as some would say. It is God-given to sinners, as is faith. See Acts 5:31; 11:18. For the necessity of true repentance, see John 3: 16 comment.”
