Two cycles ago, there is a post dated 05/08/2021 that covers Chapter 3: 1- 15: Saved by faith alone but out works will be tested by fire.

Let’s look at 2: 4 -5: “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”

Here is the commentary from the Evidence Study Bible – NKJV:

2:5 If someone has been converted to the Christian faith by the wisdom of men, all it would take is the wisdom of unconverted men to talk him out of his faith. However, if he is transformed by the power of God, he is not solely motivated to Christianity by his intellect. The Holy Spirit has convicted him of sin, righteousness and judgment. The motivation is the Law of God working upon him conscience. That has given him the knowledge that he has offended a holy God. His repentance is therefore directed by God, who responds in mercy. Those who are converted by God cannot be talked out of their faith because they were not talked into it.”

Soli Deo Gloria!
