09/03/2021 – “Master Plan of Evangelism” by Dr. Robert E. Coleman //Ongoing group study
Book ISBN Reference: 978-0-8007-8808-7
This initial “commentary” post will be complete no later than 09/07/2021. My preliminary estimate to complete this book study: Two months (1 chapter/ app. 12 pages per week) But the initial assignment in the meantime:
Initial assignment: Watch FAI productions documentary film: Sheep Among Wolves – Part 2 / free viewing via the following youtube link:
Why? Answer: We must follow in their footsteps for their present is our future. Are we all in?; The fence sitters will soon disappear. We are one body in Jesus Christ… And this film very much ties into our study of “The Master Plan of Evangelism”.
A summary of “The World’s fastest-growing church”
I expect we will constantly refer back to this film in our study, contrasting our western model: “Convert to Disciple” vs. the Iranian model: “Disciple to Convert” , a tool in conceptualizing the “Master Plan”. Welcome brothers in Christ to the impregnable militant remnant body of Christ that Yeshua assured Peter of , see Matthew 16:18. The most important question we can ask ourselves is: “Am I all in?” (through the Holy Spirit: Transformed (“metamorphoo”) into “comfortable with the flesh’ ‘uncomfortable’, from here to our last breath.) Prayer! // Soli Deo Gloria!
Note – General guidelines:
- For the Eight Chapters of this book, we can post questions, observations, prayers at any time, even after the study time block.
- I will post my first set of questions and /or observations as a comment from this introduction. If we follow all posts likewise as comments, not original posts, our dialogue will be read/write to those who are logged onto an account. Contact me – Jimmy at semikhah7@protonmail.com for account and password set up.
- This study is above my head, or my “comfort” zone. I am thinking it would be a good thing to try to stay “uncomfortable”.
- Chapter Summary with page # start:
- 1. Selection 21

Reflections on the movie: “Sheep Among Wolves – Part 2”
– In the beginning of the film, it is suggested that the Iranian church is leading the body of Christ.
What if there isn’t a rapture? In Revelation, Chapter 7 – could not the multitude in white robes , a multitude “which no man can number” be those who are martyrd during the great tribulation before Christ’s 2nd coming? Such a martyrdom would usher in the last converts who come to Christ.
– Could such a courage as these Iranian church leaders in the face of rape, torture and death be had without prayer and Holy Spirit intervention?
– Yeshua (Jesus) said that we cannot love the world and love him too. Paradoxically, does that present a greater impediment for us in this country who have had it so easy, when compared with other souls in history and in other parts of the world in the present day? Was it not easier for us to slip into “love for the world” , compared to these Iranian warriors for Christ? Note – I heard Timothy Keller point out years back that Christianity was the only religion of the world with changing centers of influence.
– Who was it that one of the Iranian Christian leaders identified as the greatest evangelizers in Iran?
Were you surprised by the comments on the empty mosques in Iran?
-When the FAI team brought the leaders to Indonesia for a conference, they described them as “goofballs”. One has the image of a group of little kids having a good time together. Can you think of a bible verse where Yeshua makes a declaration to the disciples about “hearts such as these little children”? Right after Dalton Thomas made his “goofball” note, he said: “I really love these people.”, as in “love at first sight”.
-Suggestion for further reflection as we go through this book: Notice we are introduced to the difference between the “Convert to Disciple” western church model and the “Disciple to Convert” Iranian church model? Which of these two is closer to Yeshua’s “Master Plan of Evangelism”?
-Note: These Iranian Christians really love the nation of Israel? Did that not come from Scripture? And let’s think about how counter that is to how these previously Shiite Muslems were raised in Iran.
-America, so blessed by God , has turned their back on God, so we have become of reprobate minds. Iran is going in the opposite direction. And we have a proliferating rate of explosive growth of Jewish rabbis that have coverted to Messianic, calling for a Jewish return to Yeshua their personal Lord and Savior.
– I am thinking we need to be oblivious to being “out-numbered”. As I have noted before, a personal motivator is the realization that I have a window of opportunity that is closing quickly. In heaven, I won’t be able to be a witness to the good news of Yeshua the Christ, that is forever! Or to even share in the sufferings of Christ , giving God the glory through it.
– How many American Christians are even aware of this prolific growth story in the Iranian underground Church?
– I’ll post this for now , with comments for Chapter One in the book before the Labor Day holiday is up. Blessings!

Chapter One – Selection:
Indeed, as noted in the chapter, alot was riding on Jesus’ selection of the 12 disciples:
– I was drawn to “Jesus’ Prayer For His Disciples” – John 17:6-19. Note verse 12: “While I was with them
in the world, I kept them in thy name, those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost,
but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” The selection had to have required fervent
prayer. I would think that Yeshua spent alot of time in prayer on this upcoming mission and this selection,
in his 40 days in the desert following his baptism by John. Did the Holy Spirit guide the disciples to Yeshua?
As noted in the chapter, the disciples had to be the right men to lead others.
Here I go again with my analogy to special forces in general and S.E.A.Ls in particular. I remember being fascinated
by a audio book that I followed through on my commutes on S.E.A.L. training and what qualities in recruits are the
predictors of success. It turns out they weren’t the best physical specimens , or the greatest athletes. But they
shared some of the same qualities I am about to describe in the disciples, bearing in mind: “The best of men are men at best.”
The disciples seemed to all have a drive “to greatness”. But greatness to what? It was the kingdom. Largely “simple”
Galileans, they had a strong loyalty to their Jewish faith and Jewish tradition. So Yeshua of course had to instruct them
on godly service and a humble character. They had to grow out of their vision of personal prestige but the loyal drive to
to something greater than themselves was already there.
But, if we are to replicate Yeshua’s strategy, how do we incorporate a “24-7” training schedule? I think this is where our increasingly evil world will lead the Holy Spirit to show us to a revolutionary reversion toward the “24-7” training schedule. Why? Because
for His remnant Church will never be defeated so certainly the Lord will guide us. But it will be a question of survival so that Christian families will not become prey for the wolves, the devil and his minions. Because that is their M.O. for evil: isolate and attack.
In terms of the small community that we are now residing in, I used to think of small family groups subdividing rural plots of say 20 acres. That would be the start of physical base camps for protection and support. But we can accomplish a ring of support around the community through single family properties that exist today, as long as the community has migrated to cohesive support and support across the physical locality. Then local areas can link with one another now through say cooperative service projects. And in today’s world, intentional zoom conferences in small men’s groups.
I think with men’s groups should try to schedule a weekly meeting to conflict with Monday night football. haha But seriously, Yeshua did not allow for “luke warm” commitment. We see biblical accounts where the masses would walk away saying: “this teaching is too much”. Also, see the example of “The Rich Young Ruler” (Mark 10: 17-27). Notice the text says that “Yeshua loved him”. But he didn’t call him back when the young ruler could not bring himself to sell everything he had to follow Yeshua.
Soli Deo Gloria!
