09/04/2022 – Day 189 – Phillipians 3 – 4 // “but our citiznship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of His glorious body, by the power that enables Him to subject everything to Himself.” 3: 20 – 21

Brothers, look at 3:13, what is a Paul talking about when he says “I do not coniser myself yet to have taken hold of it.” Has Paul fallen into a doctrine of salvation through works?

We need to look at verses around it:

“Not that I have already obtained all this , or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. (vs12) Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead (vs 13) , I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Jesus Christ.” (vs.14) 3: 12 – 14.

Thoughts ? From John Gill’s commentary , I missed it. Check out the link below , his commentary on 3:13:
