“Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe — a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with out modest powers must feel humble.” Albert Einstein

38:1-3: “Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: ‘Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’ “

Footnotes: “The heavens break their silence and Almighty God speaks to a mortal man. How incredible that He inpired the Bible’s authors to record His words.

Spoken out of a whirlwind, His words in these verses also apply to contemporary evangelism. Many sincere people preach the gospel but fail to precede it with God’s moral Law. Such preachers ignore the fact that the Law brings the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20), and thus the counsel of the gospel remains darkened ‘words without knowledge ‘ to lost sinners.

The preaching of the cross will be foolishness to the world as long as we fail to walk in the footsetps of Jesus and open up the divine Law before we preach the gospel (See Mark 10:17-21; Luke 10: 25-37; 18: 18-22) For deails, see 2 Sam. 12: 1-14 and John 4:7 comments.

Job was reproved by God Himself. God now asks Job seventy questions that left him with his hand upon his ignorant mouth (see 40:4). The next four chapters of this book contain scientifically accurate truths rehearsing the wonders of creation.”

Stay tuned the next two weeks to the Job finale!

We’ve already been through Romans 1:20: “For since creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead , so that they are without excuse… ” Only a fool says there is no God but check this out:

World population is estimated to have been 1 billion people in 1800 and 8 billion today. In 1800, atheists and agnostics are hardly even on the radar screen, and then barely a blip in 1900. But today, they are reported to be over 10% of global population. I think those numbers, if anything are under-reported. Is it coincidence that the proliferration of scientific discoveries in the 17th and 18th century included the work of Christian scientists such as Francis Bacon; Johann Kepler; Blaise Pascal; and Isaac Newton?

I recall a Charlie Fox program about a decade ago commemorating Darwin’s birthday. Charlie asked his two Harvard science professors guests: So what was it all about, “Origin of the Species”? I was shocked when they quickly replied: “To take God out of the equation.” (they admitted their motives!)

Soli Deo Gloria!
