I rarely do this, but I am going to repeat the Christmas Eve 2020 post for this day 221:

  • Psalm 95:6: “Oh come, let us worship and bow down: Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.”

“I can safely say, on the authority of all that is revealed in the Word of God, that any man or woman on this earth who is bored and turned off by worship is not ready for heaven.” A.W. Tozer

Now, I would like to share two comments from our reading from my Apologetics Study Bible:

Psalm 93: “The expression “the Lord reigns,” common in the enthronement psalms (47; 93; 95-99) can also be translated “Yahweh has become King.” The expression could be taken in several ways. It could express the general truth that, as Creator, He is sovereign over all things. It could be the celebration of some great victory that has revealed His rule. It could be an expression associated with a festival celebrating Yahweh’s enthronement. Or it could be eschatological, as in Isaiah 52:7 which refers to the salvation or deliverance to come. The imagery of the Lord’s reigning corresponds to phenomena that accompany the coming ‘Day of the Lord’ (Joel, Amos), often called the second coming. The psalmist lavishly praised God’s sovereignty with poetic language, and all these options could apply simoultaneously; it is not necessary to choose between them.”

I encourage y’all to connect Psalm 93:11 and the numbers verses to all the Hebrews verses in the New Testament noted in the John Gill commentary in the link below.:

“So I swore in my anger, They will not enter My rest.” Psalm 95:11

And finally back to my Evidence bible footnote:

”The Lord will not forsake His people or abandon His heritage, for justice will again be righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.” Psalm 94: 14 – 15

The footnote for v14:

“The Lord will not reject His people, those who have entered into covenant by faith. Thus the psalm is not entirely about condemnation of the wicked ; it is a prayer for God’s kingdom.”

Soli Deo Gloria!
