The Way and Not a Place

Thursday, October 23, 2025
One of the earliest names for our faith in Messiah, as recorded in the Book of Acts, is “The Way.” This name carries profound ramifications. The lives of most people, and even most believers, tend to be determined by their circumstances. But think about what the word “Way,” means. A way is not a place or a circumstance, but a path that cuts through places and circumstances. Therefore, your faith is not about your situations. Your faith is about ‘The Way.” When you’re a person identified by “The Way,” you’re no longer a person identified by your circumstances – nor are you bound by your problems. If you’re a person of “The Way,” it is no longer about what’s around you – it’s about where you’re going. Psalm 23 speaks of mountains and the valleys as the scenery of life but not the point. It’s not about them. It’s about you walking, progressing, and pressing through to the way of life. So don’t look to the right or left – but press on. For your faith is not called “The Situation” – it’s called “The Way.”
