I have links here to both John McArthur’s sermon and R.C. Sproul’s sermon on this subject. I listened to John McArthur’s sermon, but not R.C.’s, which is funny in that theologically speaking, I “line up” closer to R.C. haha These two old friends are still connected , even though R.C. went home to the Lord. I have a note to check to see if I have shared their debate on infant baptism vs. believer’s (adult) baptism. It was excellent. But on this passage, I trust they wouldn’t have a debate opportunity. It is not about the messenger, but I actually wanted to listen into Skip Heitzig’s sermon on this but I couldn’t locate brother Carl’s email awhile back. (Note – My queue keeps growing haha) So ditto for Skip: I trust Skip is not a heretic. I don’t know Skip ,but I know Carl, and I trust he would not send me anything heretical. That is not to say, we don’t have theological debate opportunities, they are just not foundational to the Christian faith.

This is not verbatim from John McArthur but I am sharing a line from his sermon that I have heard multiple times from home church pastors and sunday school teachers over the years:

“This sermon should be scary to those that are comfortable with it (or not fearful) and it should bring comfort to those who are scared by it.” Or stated another way: If the fear of the Lord comes over you on the prospect of having unknowingly committed the unforgivable sin, you haven’t committed it.

So, here we go!:

Blessings to y’all’s day!
