11/16/2020 – Day 183 – Luke 17-18- See 17:21: “..For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” Whoa!

For today, I am pulling out phrases and sections that are like the mustard seed in that they connect up with God’s truth revealed in other parts of scripture.

In the section – “The Coming of the Kingdom“, check out 17:20-21: “Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, ‘The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or “See there”. For indeed , the kingdom of God is within you.’ Whoa! It cannot be confined to time or place , no? I recall a book title from years back: “Your god is too small!”.

At the end of this reading, Jesus a Third Time Predicts His Death and Resurrection, and we are told: “But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know the things which were spoken.” Actually, maybe this section connects up with Jesus Blesses Little Children , 18: 15- 17 with verse 17 reading: “Assuredly, I say to you whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child by no means enter it.” We just need to trust our Father in heaven, be good soldiers and bask in His love, even amidst the sufferings of this world for yes, the kingdom of God is forever, which includes now!

With regard to children, there were the “terrible twos”, that was a manifestation of original sin, or – “it is all about me!”. But, recall those moments, how they just so implicitly they fully trusted you as their parent.

Soli Deo Gloria!
