11/20/2025 – PragerU – “God and Suffering” – just a five minute video. Noted within this video: If you have trouble believing, then pray the prayer of the skeptic. Stay with it, for the LORD will answer that prayer! Share this with future Christians!

I agree with Peter Kreeft on the “skeptic prayer”. But what if as a skeptic, I pray: “LORD, I so yearn to believe. I repent of my sins and I desire to accept Jesus Christ, all in!, as my LORD and savior. So, I praise you now, trusting in your answer.” I submit that I am saved at that moment, with eternity in heaven in front of me, just a relative breath away. (*A – below) So, on what basis do I submit that so confidently? One illustration: The thief on the cross. (read Luke 23: 39- 43). I will provide the last two verses here: “And he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ And he said to him, ‘Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Actually there are 100 verses that support “the thief on the cross” verses. (link below)

So, how am I so assured that the Bible is without error? Answer: the Bible has been proven over and over again, including relatively recent archaeological evidence. God’s Word is chock full of prophecies that were fulfilled many years later. (Just one personal investigation: “The Case for Christ” – Lee Strobel ). With the plethora of historical skeptics seeking to disprove it, God’s Word remains unscathed.

Note – We are all sinners needing God’s forgiveness. And, we are all saved through God’s amazing incomprehensible grace alone. So yes, this is incomprehensible for God is incomprehensible.

(*A) – Note – If I live for 50 more years, 50 years divided by eternity is the limit -0- in mathematics, thereby my life here is less than “a single breath”.

It defies all logic that a non-believer would refuse the skeptic prayer. If we Christians are wrong, then it doesn’t make any difference. But if we are right, it makes an infinite difference, eternity in hell, complete separation from God, instead of eternity in heaven. Those skeptics that retort that is not so horrific, are clueless that they have received common grace from God, or grace to non-believers that will completely disappear forever. So why the refusal? Could it not be the defiance of not wanting to give up being their own god? (a tie to universal sin, no?). C.S. Lewis, in his fictional book: “The Great Divorce” has a scene where non-believers are given a last chance after death, with believer loved ones inviting them into heaven as witnesses. But even with the joy put before them, they still refuse.

Lastly, how can we be so assured that the LORD will answer the skeptic’s prayer? Answer: I can send you seventeen verses on prayer, including from Jesus Himself, that all say basically, “ask and it will be given to you.” His Word is unscathed, so we can stand firm that He said it, and that He always delivers on promises!

I’m a mess so please note, the email “Semikhah7” is different from the blog address: “Semikkah7”. I can send you the seventeen verses on a pdf file.
