11/21/2024 – “Christianity today is man-centered, not God-centered… The image of God currently popular is that of a distracted Father, struggling in heartbroken desperation to get people to accept a Savior of whom they feel no need and in whom they have very little interest.” A.W. Tozer (link to bio attached) / comment attached
Once again, it is never about the messenger, but the One who sent the messenger! So, I find it a paradox that the attached article has a section titled “Tozerisms”. In that section it points out that Aidan Wilson Tozer, was a great scholar and humble man. So, I expect he would rightly take issue with “Tozerisms”. But actually, I highly recommend reading that section if you don’t read the entire article.
And if it weren’t so that we weren’t “man-centered” today, I submit we all would be praying a lot more than we are. (by God’s grace, I personally have been convicted of this later in life. An ever stronger sense of grieving our indwelling Holy Spirit is in fact a blessing! No? ). Thoughts? Reflections? Prayer?
Soli Deo Gloria!
