Go to link above to view this podcast presented by Brandon Hudson and Zach Dasher, two young preachers that have planted churches here in the U.S. This 45 minutes or so is rich! The could be a planted podcast that you might want to catch a ride on.
I resonated with the sanctification process from in order: 1). Saved “from God” to 2). engaging “for God” (issue: always in debt – waiting for heaven) to 3). “To God”. – Transformational Relationship with the LORD. Also:
It was pointed out that christian culture can almost get “buddhist” like in that the objective is to remove desire. Well, C.S. Lewis noted our desires aren’t too strong but too weak, with a central focus on desiring the LORD. So, we begin to cultivate an imagination for transforming our desires and our lives, one body in Christ.
- Trust and obey – obedience is the pathway to blessing.
- The age old question: “Are we thinking beings (Descartes Cartesian framework) or Believing beings? We are both but consider first and foremost we are worshipping beings.
Of course we have mis-channeled desire, thereby the Calvin quote: “The heart is an idol factory”.
A testament to this rich presentation: My summary topical notes run a full 1 1/2 pages.
