Just one short excerpt: “While, however, this was a part of the “crucified world” just now prominent to his view, this term comprised to his consciousness much beside; namely, the entire mass of ungodliness and vice which appertains to “the course, or age, of this world” (αἰὼν τοῦ κόσμου τούτου, Ephesians 2:2), from which αἰὼν, the Christian is by the daily transforming of his character to be removed (Romans 12:2). “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written: Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” ( Galatians 3:13)
Commentary in the Apologetics Study Bible on the verse: “Paul had no reason to invent a crucified Messiah (whom Jews could have view as cursed); revealing the humiliating depths to which God is willing to go to rescue from sin’s curse.”
(Result: The focal point is the unfathomable love of our Savior for His creation, on Christ alone. )
