12/02/2022 – Day 278 – Proverbs 28 / What verses jump out at you?

These two verses bring me straight to our Deep State in Washington D.C.:

“Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully.” Verse 5

  • How would a narcissist pagan understand justice?

“If anyone turns a deaf ear to the law , even his prayers are detestable”. Verse 9

Only God knows, but I wonder if there is anyone that prayers that meets that condition? And that could be more the case given today given our incessant evil global governance. I would submit it has never been worse in human history. No? We had our Hitlers in the past, but not without push back like today, when even the sanctity of human life is seemingly disregarded across the world. Yes, Chamberlain caved into Hitler, but the British people turned to Churchill soon thereafter subsequent to the invasion of Poland, an appropriate 180 degree turn. Evil is called good, and good is called evil in the open for all to see.

And does this apply less so as well in today’s world?:

“He who rebukes a man will in the end gain more favor than he who has a flattering tongue.” Verse 23

I think this speaks solely to this life up to death. I submit wisdom is in shorter supply today therefore we would rather play the fool and have our ears tickled. But I consciously try to avoid: “It isn’t like the good ol days”. So, maybe I counter myself here: The remnant Church is vastly outnumbered but by God’s grace, it is impregnable pending Christ’s return. It is not about numbers ; God is in control! The kingdom of God is here and now…

Soli Deo Gloria!
