12/05/2020 – Day 202 – Ezekiel 31-36 // What if we are in fact : “The Watchmen”?
Ok, I just brought up “convicting” in my p.s. note on the “Sheep Among Wolves, VOL 2” film. So, here I am again, Ezekiel 33: “The Watchman and His Message” , repeating from verse 7: “So, you son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. When I say to the wicked, ‘ O wicked man, you shall die’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
Therefore you, O son of man, say to the house of Israel: ‘Thus say you, ‘If our transgressions and our sins lie upon us, and we pine away in them, how can we then live? Say to them: ‘As I live, says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel!?”
Talk to me brothers: Am I reading too much into this when I am strongly sense that God is talking to me directly? I recall again, one of my bible memory verses: “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.” Luke 12:48 If in Truth, my faith did not come from me, but was in of itself also a gift from God, does not this verse connect right into Ezekiel 33? Doesn’t Paul clearly emphasize that we were grafted into “house of Israel”, so that we are “one body in Christ”? And, if I am in fact squarely accountable as a “watchman”, how then shall I live? Or let me ask it a different way. “If I am accountable, what mission do I have that would be more important and critical than this one?” And if I am convicted by this passage, do I not stay convicted until my last breath? And is that not a blessing!
So, I can at least smile when I recall our men’s bible study group of almost two decades ago concluded with: “If God put in an ad for a prophet, would you answer it?” Maybe y’all can help me with the verse, but do you recall Yeshua (Jesus) telling his disciples that in the future He will take them where they don’t want to go. If you are as flumaxed as I am, as to why others don’t seem to see the evil in this world, then we should go back to His Word. “I am just wise and others are not?”, yea, get real!
Do I really believe what I say I believe is really real? If not, why would I want to go down this path? But if in fact I do, it is the only path that leads to life, and not death. No? As the Bible notes, why would you choose to gain the whole world and lose your soul?
