ISBN book reference: 978-1-4516-5926-9
I will share with you the amazing story on the back cover:
July 9, 1755, 7:45 P.M. / Banks of the Monongahela River – Ten miles upstream of Fort Duquesne (Current location of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
“Had I not been witness, the colonel thought, I would not have believed it.
As he stared into the fire, the colonel took off his coat. Shaking it out, he found two holes, the shells having passed right through the fabric. He stared at them in disbelief, pushing a finger through each hole as if to convince himself that they were real. He slowly shook his head in disbelief.
A small group of officers was watching. One of them, a scrawny Virginian with jet-black haire, leaned forward on his knees, his face a pale yellow in the firelight. “There’s another one in your hat, sir.”
The colonel took his hat off and examined it. Yes, there was another hole.
Two shells through his clothes. And another in his hat. Two horses shot out from underneath him. He shook his head again.
His fellow Virginian watched him carefully. “Who are you?” the man wondered aloud, a deep hesitation in his voice..
The colonel turned to look at him, pushing the tattered officer coat aside. It almost seemed he tried to hide it, and he didn’t answer the other man. “Who are you?” the officer repeated.
The colonel looked his fellow Virginian in the eyes before responding. “I am George Washington.”
And just a little bit from Glenn’s Author Note:
“… We must instead remember that while Washingon was a fearless leader wo truly was indispensable, he was also average, emotional, awkward, and way too fond of ice cream..
I can tell you unequivocably that being George Washington will be the hardest thing you ever attempt to do in your life. It will also be the most fulfilling and rewarding. Living a life of honor, integrity, and humility may not make you millions of dollars or result in your name being splashed across movie posters — but it will earn you something far more enduring: the lasting respect of those you care about most. And if that doesn’t happen? Well, you can always eat ice cream.”
Glenn Beck / New York City, 2011
Jimmy concluding note:
And at even higher level, our life will give glory to God. George, and other founders, risked their lives for a country that really didn’t stand a chance by all accounts, even moreso in early battlefield experience.
Mark 8:35: “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospels will save it.”
Soli Deo Gloria!

Bravo Glenn Beck on the book!
I will quote briefly from the Conclusion: “True Greatness Dwells in the Soul” – pg 251:
“… So the real question is this: Are you willing to lose everything to do what’s right?
Washington did. He risked it all – his life, his fortune, and his sacred honor — to complete a journey that, quite often, he didn’t even want to be on. Nothing less than that level of dedication is required of us today.
Being George Washington will be the hardest thing you ever do. There will be days you’ll want to give in, moments where you’ll wonder if all of the hard work and personal sacrifices are really worth it. Trust me, they are. You may die without awards, there may not be any monuments built in your honer, and your face may not be printedon our currency, but you’ll leave this earth with something else, something far more enduring, and valuable: the reverence of your family, friends, and God, all of whom will know that true greatness dwelled in your soul.”
Soli Deo Gloria indeed!
