The idea is that we teach people to follow Jesus before the commit their lives to Jesus. This way they are having a faith experience/journey with Jesus before they commit. In this way they learn what faith is all about as we show them scriptures, help them obey the scriptures and eventually they see God working in their lives and commit. This takes away the issue of convincing someone to commit to Jesus but then not discipling them/showing them how to follow Jesus in their everyday life.“
