03/18/2020 – Day 305 – Psalms 125 – 127 //”The amount of joy we retain in tribulation reveals the depth of our trust in God.” 125:1 – bible footnote
125:1: “Those who trust in the Lord Are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be moved, but abides forever.”
126: 4 – 5: “Bring back our captivity, O Lord, As the streams in the South. Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.”
My father was born in 1921, spent his growing up school years in the midst of the great depression, followed by Pearl Harbor soon after high school graduation. Dad noted to me in his retirment years that he felt sorry for our baby boomer generation. Why? Because , in his words: “We had it rough into early adulthood. But after the end of the war, it was all gravy.” It was made more so, because they were much tougher, so everything was relatively easy after that. The nightmare , my Dad was saying with the baby boomer generation, it sadly is true in the reverse as well.
127:1: “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.”
