“Maybe you have found yourself suddenly face-to-face with a situation that, a year ago, you would never have dreamed could be true in your life… but now it is. God is “pressing” you in the midst of your own Gethsemane, saying, “I want to have My will in your life. I want you to release your rights. I want you to be willing to accept My will.”

Bible Reading: Matthew 6:20; John 5:30; Hebrews 10:9

Soli Deo Gloria!

“Don’t collect for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But collect yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6: 19-21

“I can do nothing on My own. I judge only as I hear, and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. John 5:30

“He (Jesus) then says, See, I have come to Your will. He takes away the first to establish the second.” Hebrews 10:9

Note – The Apologetics Bible commentary for 10: 4,11 points out: “Jesus is the perfect sacrifice who appeases God’s wrath toward our sin. He atones for our sin, taking it upon Himself so that we might be saved by this wonderful grace of God through faith.”). Thereby the Old Testament sacraments, the first, are replaced by the perfect sacrifice, the second.

So, the first section, Hebrews 10: 1 – 18, “The Perfect Sacrifice” is followed by Our “Exhortations to Godliness”, Hebrews: 10: 19-25.
