The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.
    Proverbs 13:4 ESV

Again we see the reward of the diligent is their needs are richly supplied. God’s way is the opposite of the world we live in where it seems people feel entitled to have their needs met without working.
The left keeps clamoring for student loan debt forgiveness. A member of congress makes $175,000 a year and wants the remaining $70,000 of her loan forgiven by the government that pays her. The “husband” of transportation secretary who makes over $200,000 a year wants student loan forgiveness while working part time as a drama teacher and living in a house in Traverse City Michigan on Lake Michigan. I can assure you a house there is not cheap. If this “couple” can afford this house they can afford to pay off their student loans. Debt should be paid by those who take it on. These government officials (and “spouses”) lobbying for this is a conflict of interest at least and Immoral. God’s word says to be diligent.

I normally read the ESV. But I also enjoy the Message paraphrase from time to time. This passage in John really struck me today. Especially where Jesus tells Judas to “Do it”.

Jesus said, “The one to whom I give this crust of bread after I’ve dipped it.” Then he dipped the crust and gave it to Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot. As soon as the bread was in his hand, Satan entered him. “What you must do,” said Jesus, “do. Do it and get it over with.”
    John 13:26‭-‬27 MSG

As compared to the ESV “do, do quickly”. Both say basically the same. But the message version seemed more real today.
