Indeed , as Jacob noted the wonder of it: in verse 30, “So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, ‘It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.’ Why not? God honors honest communication. And what more honest communication for a man than to wrestle. The biggest question mark with a wrestle with the Angel of the Lord, or God (pre-incarnate Yeshua), how is it he couldn’t overcome Jacob as stated. Of course “he could have”.
