The bible call us not to judge souls that are not yet in the church, the body of Christ. But Paul emphasizes the church must discipline those souls in the church out of love. Let’s take a look at John Gill’s commentary on verse 5:

And then verse 6: “And we will be ready to punish every act of disobediance once your obediance is complete.”:

We are saved only by the blood of Jesus. But I submit that we all still face a judgment as to how we used the gifts that God gave us. Thoughts? I can delve into biblical support for that belief. If indeed it is so, it makes it all the more clear that church discipline is indeed an imperative out of love. No? So, if we love a brother or a sister, we rebuke them, as uncomfortable as that is. If we let that go, than do we really love them?

Soli Deo Gloria!
