11/13/2022 – “Without Excuse” – Romans 1 / “There is no one to whom God has not made himself known. Atheism is a choice. Humanism is a reaction. It is a stifling; it is a suppressing of a truth that man knows.” John Calvin
This is the third week of Alistair’s short sermon series of the 2nd half of Romans, chapter one. I waited for the text of the sermon to post this one. Isn’t it interesting how atheism was almost unheard of in the colonies early in our nation’s founding, the same for western civilization in general. It hearkens me to what Jesus said in Matthew 11:25: “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.” And of course, that connects in turn to Matthew 18: 3-4: “And He said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Soli Deo Gloria!
