11/17/2020- Day 184 – Leviticus 10-12 – “The Most Holy Secret” from Sapphires.
From my Sapphires daily devotional email just this morning once again coincidentally connects our reading for today:
“Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, was the most holy day on the Biblical Calendar – the day when men stood before God and had their sins forgiven. However, the most important part was that it took place in secret, behind the veil in the Holy of Holies. No one saw or heard it. This means the most holy and important things happen in secret. The word holy means set apart. In the same way, the most holy moments of your life will take place in the secret – set apart from your job, relationships, even from the things of God. All these things have a place. But it’s easy even in the things of God to lose God Himself. The Holy of Holies was only able to hold God and one other person. The secret place is only big enough for you and God. If you ignore the secret place, everything else will become dry and empty. If you dwell in the secret place, everything else will become full. Today, before you go to bed, enter His chambers, just you and Him, and be filled up in the radiance and glory of His presence, hidden away in the Secret Place.From Message #121 – The Secret Place

TODAY’S MISSION – Today, enter into the Secret Place, the Holy of Holies, and spend good time there, just you and the Lord.
I apologize, but I don’t have the source behind this quote below but I have seen the same “Kadosh” definition from Jonathan Cahn.
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty. The whole Earth is full of his glory!” (Isaiah 6:3)
“קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת; מְלֹא כָל-הָאָרֶץ, כְּבוֹדוֹ”
“kadosh kadosh kadosh adonai tsvaot; melo hol haarets kvodo”
“The word Kadosh (holy) is recorded here not once, not twice, but three times in a row – a common Hebraic way to emphasize something. So what does Holy mean in Hebrew?
The word “Kadosh” (holy) means something that is “other” (set a part) – the exact opposite of the something that is common. The word is pregnant with the sense of sanctity and consecration. When Moses thought of the word to use in describing the most important place in the Tabernacle, where Israel’s God dwelled, he called it – the Holy of Holies!”

So, God is serious about this “set a part”- sanctity and consecration.. Matthew Henry’s commentary gives a detailed account of Nadab and Abihu’s irreverence, in clear disregard for God’s command, handed down to Moses for priestly consecration. One example of many is offering the strange fire, same with the strange incense, which is expressly forbidden , Exodus 30: 9. Once again, we have a connection to Mark 8:35: “To whom much is given, much will be required.
