Here I go, ruining the satire with a personal comment, but I got a special kick out of this one, seeing as how we presented my father a dvd story and tribute to his life, that included two prominent popular motivational scenes in the “Braveheart” movie. Perhaps we can be excused, for my grandfather Robert, a poor 2nd generation Scot immigrant with 13 children, somehow knew enough Scot history to name his third son William Wallace. He had waited long enough, after being faithful to Scot tradition that the first son is named after the paternal grandfather (James), and the second son, is named after the father (Robert). The third was his choice alone. My grandfather, born in 1870, died three years before my birth, but that told me a lot about my grandfather, combined with just a handful of humorous antidotes passed down from my Dad. Always connected by His grace!

Even with Satire: Soli Deo Gloria indeed!

p.s. – And even the Patriot movie, Mel Gibson may be a mess, aren’t we all, but he is one heckuva producer. In that movie, the “mojo” scene is where the Dad is instructing his two very young sons: “Aim small, shoot small”, as they are preparing to ambush a British platoon that had just murdered their older brother on their homestead in South Carolina.
