“An Old Man and His God – Level XIII 235 – 1427 – 1419 B.C.E- Chapter Four:

In the story, Eliav suggests to Cullinane a reading of Deuteronomy, multiple times even. It is the fifth book of the Pentateuch to pull together the religious faith; history and cultural dynamic.  Good idea!; I am putting Dennis Prager’s :  “The Rational Bible – Deuteronomy” in my reading queue, at least for now.  Prager is A Orthodox Jew that has spent his whole life studying the Old Testament – Books of the Torah, and a  Hebrew language expert as well.  (We’re not talking comparatively just church and Sunday school hours).

You can check out the book with a search on the ISBN # 978 – 1621579007.3.  I wonder what Prager’s Genesis commentary of his “Rational Bible” says on Genesis 3:15: , where the Lord God tells said to Satan:  “He will crush your head and you will strike his heel.” Pray for Dennis, that he finds His Savior, Jesus Christ.  Even as a “future” Christian, Dennis is a Christian Apologist in our day.  (“Apologist” = defend your faith to a lost world). We need more.

Jonathan Cahn has showed me the richness of the Hebrew language , a Messianic Jewish preacher that went from secular Jew to Rabbi to Christian preacher. “Messianic”, so Jonathan sees Jesus in Genesis 3:15!  I am convinced that Jonathan has a prophetic gift from God.  We need to be discerning of false prophets , there is a “New Apostolic Reformation (N.A.R.)”  (see description below)

I highly recommend Jonathan’s  “The Book of Mysteries” , a 365 day devotional.

Thoughts?  Reflections?

Question: So, did the author Michener read Deuteronomy multiple times, the “self-proclaimed” secularist. Of course, this book received great overall customer reviews. But I saw three versions of complaints from a small minority: That Michener had a bias against : 1) Christianity; 2) Islam; or, 3) Secular Humanism; depending of course on the worldview of that particular reader I suspect. haha. So far, and I am on Chapter 11, Level Vi, at this point, I am not buying into any one of those three! But again, this is probably my favorite non-Biblical book of all time, certainly in the category of novels, with multiple Michener books on the short list. But we might revisit the question at the very end. I don’t think though that I would be reading the book a 2nd time through, 2+ decades later, had I felt a bias against Christianity. So that leaves only two of the three left.

Blessings to y’all’s day!

Your brother in Christ,

Jimmy
