Tameion Bible Reading Plan

“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6)

Jesus is saying to go into the secret prayer closet. Tameion in Greek. I picked this name for a project I was working on a few years ago focused on prayer. The daily Words of Wisdom daily email is sent from “tameionnet at gmail dot com” because it originated with a random set of Bible verses for the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) model of prayer.

The Tameion Bible Reading Plan is a read the Bible starting in Genesis and ending in Revelation by breaking up each days reading into roughly the same number of verses. The Bible contains 66 books, 1189 chapters, and 31,102 verses. That works out to 85 verses per day. The reading plan does not split chapters across days. Therefore when you read Pslam 119 you’ll read 150 verses. But on some other day you’ll read less so that the average will be 85 verses.

Each day you’ll receive an email that includes a table of linked chapters. Clicking these links takes you to the Bible. On a phone with the YouVersion Bible App installed the reading will open in the app.
