As if we need any more reason to read God’s word daily check out these verses from chapter 30.

Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.
    Proverbs 30:5‭-‬6 ESV

God’s Word, the Bible, is true. It is said that FBI agents can detect counterfeit easily because they have spent years studying the real money. In a similar way when we study the truth (v5) we can tell when false teachings are added (v6).

V4 grabbed me. Reading from John Gill’s commentary (https://www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/gills-exposition-of-the-bible/proverbs-30-4.html) … “This Scripture is a proof of Christ’s being the eternal Son of God; of his equality with his divine Father as such, their name and nature being alike ineffable; of his co-existence with his Father as such; and of his omnipresence and omnipotence, expressed by the phrases here used of ascending and of his distinct personality from the Father; the same question being distinctly put of him as of the Father.”

Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name? Surely you know!
