Part 1 : “Training of the Twelve” with Two Components:

1A: Skip Heitzig’s audio sermon series that Carl outlined on 01/06/2022. There are 21 sermons . Carl is probably on around #5 or #6 by now. I have a goal of finishing seven from now until Saturday 22nd to allow a week+ for extended discussion on the entire topic. My goal is to complete at least these seven sermons with biblical references noted for each on the Jan 6th post: “Jesus Picks His Team” / “Mission Impossible” / “Dark Days for Disciples” / “Daring to Make a Difference/ “Another Helper” / “The Fruitful Life of the Believer’ / “The Downward Steps of a Disciple”

1B: I have posted this before: View the FAi documentary movie production that is free on the attached FAI link or Youtbube: Sheep Among Wolves Volume II . This is the amazing story of the Iranian Church, perhaps the fastest growing church in the world. We will compare and contrast their disciple making movement (DMM) with our Disciple to Convert model here in the U.S. church. Can we learn from them? And if so, how? This was one of the most motivating and convicting, in a positive way, Christian movie that I perhaps have ever seen.

I can tell you firsthand after years and years of seeing the Gospel take root in the Islamic Republic of Iran: the Holy Spirit will sort the secondary things out. They’re important. They matter. And He’ll give you the power to forgive your enemies. He can heal your land. Incredible things are happening in Iran, to and through Iranians, by the power of the Holy Spirit. And we don’t have the freedom you have in America! But I’ll tell you this: I’ll take the Iranian Islamic regime over democratic freedom any day. I mean that. Why? Because the Holy Spirit is breathing on persecution we are enduring as disciples of Jesus in Iran, and the Gospel is sweeping through our country with more might and power than COVID-19. Iranians are going to crowd out the sea of glass. We’re going to need a lot of seats at the table at the Wedding Feast. We have plenty of injustice in Iran, and God sees it, and He cares. And He’s dealing with it, and He will deal with it. But we aren’t discipling Iranians to solve temporal problems in this temporal age. We’re discipling for eternity.”

II – In February, we will read one chapter a day in the Gospel of John, with 21 chapters in total. As a preview , I would like to direct you to “Bible Discussion Guide” that Carl has provided us from Mack Thomas’ two books – The Complete Bible Study Guides for both the Old Testament and the New Testament. We will use the questions outlined for each chapter study and possibly more. We would encourage each brother to add questions to share with the group. So that we might grow!

III – Starting March 2nd , we will commence with one of the read and pray through the Bible in 365 day plans. On the main tab – to the black bar near the top and click on “Bible reading” for a summarized description of the plans.

Take a look at the “Words of WIsdom Release Notes” selection off the main “Semikkah” menu. You can subscribe as noted to receive daily auto emails to the 365 day plans and more as noted.

Take a look at the three 365 day plans plus the Community Bible Reading plan, slightly expanded as the Old Testament reading cycles three years , not one. Also , Skip Heitzig’s Bible from 30,000 feet is shown.
