03/23/2022 – “Messiah Under the Full Moon” / Weak analogy: Unraveling the layers and interconnections of God’s truth is like pealing an onion, layer by layer. It just doesn’t end, praise God!

Messiah Under The Full Moon

For those of you who read the scripture for the day, I will share here my footnote for entire section 2 Corinthians 5: 1-9, for it will be awhile before we get to it in our annual read through program:

“5: 1-9 Paul spoke here about an intermediate state (“at home with the Lord,” v. 8) between death (putting off ‘this tent’) and resurrection (‘put on our house from heaven’). Of course, the soul’s disembodiment is not ideal (it is compared to being ‘naked’): the fullest, richest existence is an embodied one.. This intermediate state is strongly implied elsewhere in the NT (See Luke 20: 37-38; 23:43, Philippians 1: 23-24).”

Why did Messiah die on the day He did? First, it was Passover and He is the Passover lamb. Second, it was the eve of the Sabbath and He was finishing up God’s work. But another reason, Messiah died in the middle of the month, the middle of Nisan, a special time in the Hebrew month, was the time of the full moon. Messiah’s body was put in the tomb at the full moon. It’s very significant. In the ancient Hebrew marriage ceremony, the groom would go to the bride’s house, pledge himself to her and give a price, a gift of his love, the mohar, which set her free. The mohar was often given at the full moon. So Messiah died at the full moon during the month of Nisan, which means the beginning. Why? Because He is the bridegroom. Just as the full moon was rising over Jerusalem, He said it is finished. He gave His life because He was paying the mohar, the price for you, setting you free from the old life. Walk today in the power of newness, because the price has been paid for you in full. From Message #781 – The Mystery of the Calah
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17

TODAY’S MISSION – The mohar gave the bride the freedom to walk into a new life. Your mohar has been given. Step out into newness and victory.

Soli Deo Gloria!
