A rich message from beginning to end. But Pastor Ken’s story of an interview in Colorado with Larry Kraft many years ago for christian counseling positions. Catch Kraft’s answer to Ken’s question at the end: “What are you looking for, many applicants and few slots?” It sets an excellent tone for these 29 chapters.

I’ll share with you the five “take-aways.”:

  1. Comfort people, not yourself.
  2. In explaining God – Stick with the Bible
  3. Before You Explain God – Know God.
  4. Don’t Use God as a Means to an End
  5. When You Talk of God’s Justice, Add Mercy.

“Don’t Use God as a Means to an end.”

I can’t say I haven’t done something related in the past. It’s very tempting to want to cover up for our lofty ways by twisting scripture to suit our perceptions.

This brings it back up the the 3rd…
“Before You Explain God – Know God.”
You can’t be influenced by sin and claim to truly know God. Knowing God pervades beyond our intellect on aspects about Him. The most obvious ways it manifests is when we exemplify His character.

Always connected by His prayer and grace.

Yes indeed. It goes without saying that for all of us, mortification of the flesh is an ongoing battle for us until our last breath. So, personally,
the indwelling Holy Spirit is emphasizing daily prayers of repentance, even for little sins. Why?, am I not saved? Of course not. Kraft’s answer to
Pastor Ken’s question of what was he looking for in what would be a select few of the christian counseling candidates that were being interviewed:
“I am looking for people who have suffered!” Continual failure to this, but nevertheless we embrace it: “Be Holy for I am Holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 , an emphasis
      pointing back to Leviticus 11:44.
Gotta run brother, Will is up a little early. haha. I’ll follow up on email later part of the morning. Blessing to what is left of your day…
