04/27/2020 – Praise Music series: Gregorian Chants – Benedictine Monks of the Abbey of St. Ottilien, Germany

This praise music probably goes back over 1500 years.

I used to play Gregorian Chants cassette tape on long commutes in Houston, in addition to home. Sad, but I lost the habit, now that I think about it when I didn’t have anything to play the cassette tape on. Well, I’m back!

Why Gregorian chants. It goes back to the early church. I love to listen to Bach and Handel. I can listen to it at work on a Saturday and actually feel more productive. But not so much for Bible study and prayer; Gregorian chant, softly played seems to help there. I was sharing this with brother Jonathan, who has a household with young children. I am wondering now if it were played in the home, if it would have a calming effect .
