05/24/2022 – Day 086 – Genesis 48 – 50 – The conclusion of the book.
Chapter 48 – Interesting how Joseph wanted Jacob to bless Manasseh, his oldest son instead of Ephraim, a tradition. Jacob refused. Interesting seeing as how Jacob, the younger son who “stole” his elder brother Esau’s rightful blessing with the help from Rebekkah , his mother.
Chapter 49 – Jacob’s Blessing: Jacob started the blessings of his sons , by calling out Reuben for his terrible sin, amidst all of him brothers. Would not this cast a shadow over the tribe of Reuben amongst the other tribes?
Chapter 50:26: Last verse: See the attached commentary from John Gill on this verse. Joseph’s body was in fact dug up and reburied in the family plot in the promised land.
